About The Midnight Media Coup

I am a videomaking, queer, non-gender identified, philadelphian, jewish, urban-focused, activist who lives off free and cheap pizza in the pursuit to make the world a better (or at least more tolerable) place.

I was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Upper Darby PA, right outside West Philadelphia from the time I was 3. I graduated from Upper Darby High School in 2007. I started seriously pursuing video when I was 15 and I participated in the Scribe Video Center’s Documentary History Project for Youth in 2005. After the project was completed in January of 2006 I was an active member of Upper Darby High School’s broadcast journalism program. In 2007 I matriculated at Hampshire College and I anticipate graduating in May of 2011. At Hampshire my studies focus on video, social justice, youth empowerment and global power dynamics.

I have created the Midnight Media Coup as a means to support my work and the work of others in a format that directly analyzes and opposes the current Non-Profit Industrial Complex.

Through media production we create change.  We live in a culture surrounded by media.  The more corporatized this media becomes the more necessary it is for us to create our own media.
